Mac Computer Advanced
4 sessions of 2.5 hours each
Continuing on from where Mac Computer Basics left off students will be introduced to and learn to use iCloud and iCloud+ for online storage of photos and documents, and Stage Manager to organize their desktops more efficiently. In addition, the usage of Split-Screen, Dictation, Airdrop, Live Text and taking screenshots is taught.
This is a hands-on course. Students will need to bring a Mac laptop and mouse (if you use one) to each class. Make sure your laptop is charged and running the latest operating system (currently Sequoia).
Prerequisite: Mac Computer Basics. (This is a must.)
Lesson 1
We will be learning more about iCloud & iCloud+ and how they can protect your data. We’ll be doing some fun things: customizing your icons, email “extras”, inline predictive text ,video chat reactions and air drop.
Lesson 2
We will be creating recovery contacts in case you lose your log-in password. These are people you trust who can help you get your Mac unlocked. We’ll learn how to safely share your passwords and passkeys with friends and family. Other topics will be Split Screen Views, Using Dictation and Live Text.
Lesson 3
We will learn Stage Manager and Stacks to help keep your desktop organized. In case you misplace your device, “Find My” is an excellent app that helps you find it. We will create a “Legacy Contact” so someone can access your computer if anything happens to you. Finally, we will be creating an “Memoji” that you can use in emails, texts etc.
Lesson 4
We will explore the many changes Mac Os 15 has brought and how to use them to work more efficiently.
