Master the Google Cloud
2 sessions of 2.5 hours (plus a 3rd lesson, ‘Optional Workshop’, is available at no additional charge)
This course is appropriate for Mac and Windows PC users
Students may bring their own laptops, tablets, and smartphones, if they have any, or use our Windows computers to get started.
The Google Cloud can help you organize your life! Is it hard to keep track of your data, photos, and important files? Do you wish you always had access to your electronic “stuff” wherever you are? Would you like to share photos and data easily? Do you have too many lists of contacts and too many calendars?
You need to learn about the Google Cloud if your hard drive or camera storage is filling up, you aren’t backing up all those great photos of your grandchildren, if you want to share files and photos with your friends and relatives, and you want to better organize all your information. You can do all these things and more for free.
When you finish the class, you will have a free Google Drive account with 15 GB of storage (computer, smartphone and tablet) which is backed up automatically and ready for easy sharing. In addition, you will learn how to automatically synchronize your Google Calendar and Google Contacts on all your devices, and even get a second phone number that rings on your cell phone and home phone all for FREE.
Here are the topics we will cover:
- What is Cloud Computing?
- Why is Cloud Computing Useful?
- Using Google Drive
- Getting your own Google Account
- Getting Google Drive on all your devices
- Other related benefits
