Prerequisite: Ability to take photos with your iPhone or Android phone.
Photography can add so much to our lives by recording and sharing special events, places, family and friends, and most importantly, our cherished memories. It can also be a wonderful hobby, as it gets us out and about, keeps us busy and creative, and enables us to continue to learn, grow, and enjoy life.
Join us for this three-lesson class, to learn about some of the most popular types of photography (Portraiture, Candid, Landscape, Nature, Travel, etc.), best practices to improve your photography skills, tips and techniques to enhance the quality of your photos, and photo editing to adjust and enhance your most important photos.
Lesson 1
What qualities make a photo more interesting?
Types of Photography: Portraiture, Landscape, Travel
Composition: Depth of Field, Rule of Thirds, Leading Lines, Lighting.
Tips and Techniques: Focus on the Subject, Watch Out for Distractions.
Lesson 2
Types of Photography: Candid, Street, Documentary.
Composition: Layering, Positioning / Perspective, Fill the Frame / Negative Space, Time.
Tips and Techniques: How to Hold Your Camera, Take Many Shots, Find the Light.
Lesson 3
Types of Photography: Nature / Wildlife, Architectural, Fashion
Composition: Subject Matter, Reflection, Framing, Color vs. Black & White.
Tips and Techniques: Clean Your Lens, Get Closer, Forget About Perfection.
Editing: Adjust and Enhance Your Most Important Photos.
